August 27, 2002 -- San Diego, CA -- Travel Talk RadioTM announced today Rod Diridon, Chairman of the California High Speed Rail Authority, will be the special guest on Travel Talk Radio's ONLINE program Thursday, August 29, 2002 from 9 - 11am Pacific at www.traveltalkradio.com.

The Authority is preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for a 700-mile high-speed train system serving Sacramento, the San Francisco Bay Area, the Central Valley, Los Angeles, Inland Empire, Orange County and San Diego. Sandy Dhuyvetter, executive producer of Travel Talk Radio, is an avid advocate of this futuristic mode of transportation. "We are very excited about learning more about the master plans to build this high-speed connection between Northern and Southern California. This is a huge undertaking and we are honored to have Mr. Diridon as our special guest this week. He is a great leader with insightful vision and tremendous talent". The son of an immigrant Italian railroad brakeman, Rod grew up with railroad in his heritage. Rod has chaired over 100 international, national, state and local community service programs and projects.
