Journey of a thousand miles through baja california, the other mexico
will be joining Sandy as she broadcasts LIVE from Mazatlan Sunday
morning December 8, 2002. Mayo's stories, essays and poems have
appeared in numerous U.S. literary magazines including Chelsea,
Fourth Genre, The Paris Review, Southwest Review, Tin House
and Witness, as well as the Los Angeles Times and Wall
Street Journal. An article in the latter -- on Baja California's
rock art -- was named a finalist for the Texas Institute of Letters'
Stanley J. Walker Prize for Best Work of Journalism in a Daily
Newspaper, 1998.
This weeks program LIVE from
Mazatlan and will be broadcast from KFMB 760AM in Southern CA and
ONLINE. Sandy is visiting the city for the first time and will be
bringing in tourism experts from the region. Guests representing
Mazatlans cultural events, tourism publications and some real live
snowbirds who spend each winter in Mazatlan will also join Sandy.
The Travel Talk Radio staff will
