Robert E. Whitley, President, has served the USTOA since 1978 when he was selected by the board of directors to head the national nonprofit organization.

For seven consecutive years, Mr. Whitley was recognized by the former Leisure Travel News, as one of the travel industry’s 25 most influential executives. In1996, 1997 and 1999 he was named as the Person of the Year for Travel Industry Associations by Travel Agent Magazine. "We are so fortunate to have Mr. Whitley's expertise available to our listeners," said Sandy Dhuyvetter, executive producer of Tours Talk Radio. Founded in 1972, the United States Tour Operators Association is a professional organization representing the tour operator industry. The active tour operator members of USTOA annually move more than ten million Americans both domestically and internationally, accounting for over eight billion dollars in sales.
