New York, NY – August 9, 2005 – Alex Harris, CTC, Chairman, ATS and General Tours, Michael Stolowitzky, President and CEO, American Tourism Society (ATS), and Karmenu Vella, Chairman, Corinthia Hotels International (CHI) announced that the award winning five-star Corinthia Towers Hotel will be the venue for the ATS fall Meeting and Travel Mart, in Prague, the Czech Republic, November 17-19, 2005. The ATS meeting, to be held in association with the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA), will be hosted by Czech Tourism, CSA Czech Airlines, the Smithsonian Magazine, as well as the Corinthia Towers Hotel, will take place immediately following World Travel Market in London. The news was made official at a meeting at ATS headquarters in New York City where CHI’s Geoff Andrew, Group Director, Sales & Marketing, Christian Grage, General Manager, Corinthia Towers Hotel and Don Reynolds, ATS Executive Vice President were also present.

Vella said, “ATS is the first American-based travel industry organization that CHI joined when we decided to go after the American market, because we recognized the tremendous economic impact this group has on the international travel industry market. ATS, through its members, moves 3 million passengers a year with a volume of 4 billion US dollars. We are honored that ATS has selected the Corinthia Towers Hotel for this Prague meeting and are confident that we will provide the delegates with a unique and memorable hospitality experience that reflects the ‘Spirit of Corinthia’.”

Michael Stolowitzky, in his announcement, noted that ATS is proud to be the first American based tourism organization to hold a conference at a Corinthia property since its launch into the American market. Corinthia, with 20 properties in 11 destinations, truly reflects the ATS mission, ‘Bringing the World Together.’ Its properties in Prague, Budapest, St. Petersburg, Turkey and Tripoli, represent the same hot new destinations that ATS is focusing on: Central Europe, The Baltics and ATS’ expansion to the Red /Mediterranean Sea region.”

Following successful conferences in Poland and Budapest, Prague is described by many as the "Jewel in the Crown" of the “New Europe,” and is certainly one of the front runners. ATS founder and Chairman Alex Harris, CTC, stated “We are excited to return to Prague as we have seen tremendous growth of American tourism to this city since our last meeting held there. We are eager to continue to introduce new travel agents and tour operators to the Czech Republic’s tourism product as well as update our members on new properties, and programs available in this culturally rich and diverse destination.”

Geoff Andrew, stated that “CHI is pleased to note that our ATS membership has already resulted in several viable and expansive new business contracts. The US is a new market for us this year and we already have sales, marketing and public relations resources based in New York City. CHI is recognized as one of the fastest growing hospitality chains in Europe, and we look forward to expanding our brand recognition in the US through hosting such events as the ATS conference."
