| Welcome to this week's TravelTalkMEDIA's Newsletter. April begins with exciting travels for the TravelTalkRADIO team. This week we will leave for one of this years hottest travel spots, CROATIA! We will be traveling with our friends from the distinguished travel association, the American Tourism Society (ATS).Their byline, Bringing the World Together says it all, as they do an excellent job each year celebrating and bringing visibility to the "new Europe" and the "Red-Med Sea" area. This month ATS starts their celebration in Croatia and in the fall moves to Romania for the October conference. Russia, Israel, Jordan, Budapest, Prague have all been honored with the ATS's exposure. Tour operators and agents come together to share their knowledge and to highlight these boutique countries and regions that are exciting and welcoming. Rome, Brussels and Paris will always be in high demand, but the ATS's point is to make sure travelers keep an open mind about exploring these fascinating and relatively new modern day venues. Nena Komarica, General Manager of the Croatia Tourism Board will join me on Sunday to discuss her native Croatia.
Karen Hoffman, Sr VP Bradford Marketing Group NYC, and long time colleague of TravelTalkMEDIA will talk about the concept of the "Red-Med Sea" region and mission of the American Tourism Society. |

After Croatia, we take a "road-trip" to Wickenburg Arizona one of the best preserved western towns in America. We will be arriving just in time for the 10th Anniversary British Auto Tour. British cars should be coming out of the woodwork as over 200 automobiles make their way through the Arizona deserts and highlands. If you are interested in coming by, here is more information; British Cars Ride Into Wickenburg, 216 N. Frontier Street, 928-684-5479. Don't forget, I'll be taking pictures of the spring flowers, so be sure to stop back and see our photos of the weekend. Julie Brooks, executive director of Wickenbgurg AZ Chamber of Commerce will be joining me on this week's program to share some of the up-coming events in Wickenburg. Then it's off to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, to the Airline Distribution Conference, sponsored by the first credit card company in the world, Universal Air Travel Plan (UATP). This is our 3rd conference we are attending and this year we will double our distribution by providing UATP with radio and TV coverage that converges on the Web for 7/24 viewing. If you are an airline aficionado you will enjoy the Podcast for the UATP newsletter, click HERE to listen. TravelTalkMEDIA will be producing the UATP newsletter Podcast for the next year, so you can be sure you will be given the chance to link into all the Podcast!
We are thrilled to be working again with the World Tourism Marketing Summit. TravelTalkMEDIA was named media sponsor of the second World Tourism Marketing Summit (WTMS) to be held in Beijing, China, host city to the 2008 Summer Olympics, between October 28 and 30, 2007. TravelTalkMEDIA will be covering the entire conference with radio and TV broadcasting. On this week's TravelTalkRADIO, Sujit Chowdhury,
President and CEO of the World Trade University will join me to talk about this 60 country summit which will include 600 delegates.
The first two days of the Summit will be held in Beijing and third day all delegates will have an exclusive opportunity to experience Tianjin, China.
In the final hour of this week's program, we welcome our regular monthly guests from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta. This week, Dr. Gary Brunette MD will join me to talk about healthy travel and how it relates to sporting events like the Cricket World Cup currently held in Caribbean. I think you are going to enjoy the conversation and walk away realizing the depth of knowledge the CDC offers. It's entire focus is on health issues and being ever vigilant to the travelers health needs. The CDC recommends to the medical community, which in turn dictates the vaccinations and other travel med's that tourists need before visiting countries abroad. I think you will enjoy this conversation, if nothing else, the steel drums introducing Dr. Brunette will captivate the music lover in you. Safe travels and I invite you to join us for this week's program. Sandy |
