Welcome to this weeks TravelTalkMEDIA newsletter. |
|
We participate in and are involved with many professional travel associations around the world. The huge memberships of these organizations give us the opportunity to reach into the core of the industry for the most reliable information in each sector of travel and tourism. In January of 2007, TravelTalkRADIO will be broadcasting live from Grapevine, Texas at the annual American Bus Association Marketplace. The ABAs event is considered by many to be one of the best organized working conferences in travel. Peter Pantuso, ABA President, leads the association with over 950 motorcoach and tour company members and another 2,300 organization members. |

Business Development Manager
at Pleasant Holidays,

some great vacation and travel gift ideas with Sandy
this coming Sunday
|
Almost 3,000 delegates are signed up for this years ABA Marketplace and the numbers continue to grow quickly with just a few weeks remaining for registration. This will be TravelTalkRADIOs 4th successive year of broadcasting live from the ABA Marketplace and we are delighted to bring our audiences the latest product information in motorcoach touring as well as the newest group travel experiences that tour operators are bringing to the table. One fact hard to fathom is that more people travel by bus and motorcoach each year than by airplanes and trains combined! When you climb aboard the latest in modern motorcoaches, many with hi-tech onboard entertainment and communication systems, and venture out on any of the custom tour experiences being offered around the US and Canada, youll understand why we see a very bright future for the guided motorcoach tour industry.
Another important association with the motto of Bringing the World Together has just gone through some dynamic changes by adopting a new strategic plan for the coming years. From its inception in the late 80s, the American Tourism Society (ATS) was the first and only group to promote, develop and expand high-quality, reliable travel between North America and Russia (then known as the USSR!). Since then, Alex Harris CTC, Co-founder of ATS, and his member colleagues in the travel industry have used that same insightful vision to take the association on the road and open the doors of tourism in some regions that were not previously on the usual agenda for mainstream American travelers like the Baltics, Central and Eastern Europe, and many counties in the Eastern Mediterranean/Red Sea Region (the Red/Med as ATS fondly refers to the area). Today, the ATS is fortunate to still have as Alex Harris as its Chairman and, together with Michael Stolowitzky, President and CEO of ATS, this dynamic leadership team has secured sponsorships from the private sector including American Express and many of AEs partners and alliances to carry forward the mission of ATS in bringing the world together. ATS Executive VP, Don Reynolds, along with Phil Otterson, Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, have pledged a new three year strategy that will make the association even more relevant to the travel industry and more effective in achieving its goals. According to Stolowitzky, ATS members together are responsible for generating over four billion US Dollars worth of transactions each year and are moving more than three million travelers annually.
Throughout our broadcasts and programming this coming year, we will bring these visionary leaders and travel industry professionals and much more to our audiences worldwide, carrying forward TravelTalkMEDIAs pledge of Connecting You to the Experts in travel.
I would like to personally invite you to take a few minutes and look at the newly redesigned www.TravelTalkMEDIA.com Web site for a sampling of the wealth of travel resources and information we offer on a daily basis. All of our radio and TV programming including interviews and TV segments are all available 24x7 on demand for your viewing and listening pleasure. The resources served at the site are designed to help travelers make better decisions as we send ourselves, our company employees and our loved ones on the road. Travel is a precious freedom and it is an opportunity for introspection on the human spirit and to become ambassadors of our respective countries. These are concepts not to be taken lightly as we begin to realize that the influence of the individual traveler can carry a much more significant impact than national politics. As part of the global community, we must each respect all people and cultures of all nations for us to live together in peace. Let us start by crossing borders and celebrating the opportunity to understand and accept diversity. It starts with a handshake.
Travel safe and please stop by www.TravelTalkRADIO.com to hear our live radio broadcast every Sunday 9 11am Pacific time, Noon 1pm Eastern, or listen on your favorite radio station in your local area (and If TravelTalkRADIO is not broadcast locally, you might want to request that it should be!).
