CETV, China’s Largest Educational Television Network,
Announces Partnership with TravelTalkMEDIA Group


(January 1, 2009 – San Diego, California) – Celestialink LLC announced today that its media division, TravelTalkMEDIA Group, will partner with Chinese television giant, China Education Television (CETV), and China Educational Media Group (CEMG) to launch World Travel Channel, a new international television channel devoted to travel and tourism.

From Beijing, Madame Xiao Yuanhua who serves as CETV’s Advisor to the President and the Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, shared an enthusiastic message with investors and partners supporting the development of the new World Travel Channel: “We believe that international travel, world heritage and cultural information, education and people-to-people contacts are invaluable to China’s future in the world and the new World Travel Channel will play an important role in providing information and education to our viewing public”.

CETV will be supporting China Educational Media Group and TravelTalkMEDIA by providing licensing, production, distribution and promotion. Valued support is US$10 million including satellite delivery to all of China and nearby territories reaching 600 million people daily.

“We are very honored to be selected by CETV and CEMG to bring this exciting new travel channel to life”, said Sandy Dhuyvetter, executive producer of TravelTalkMEDIA. “With the backing of CETV and our partnership with CEMG, we believe we are extremely well positioned to become the largest television channel in the world dedicated to tourism and travel.”  

Ms. Dhuyvetter added, “TravelTalkMEDIA will be responsible for all of the day to day operations of the new travel channel, and one of our most important mandates is to produce new programming and acquire programming from around the world, making the World Travel Channel a true international experience.”

Madam Xiao’s message also lauded the newly formed partnership: “CETV is pleased to be a partner of the China Educational Media Group and the TravelTalkMEDIA Group in launching the World Travel Channel which will support our overall effort to expand our educational broadcasting mission, increasing our public presence in China and helping us to further establish our involvement and international presence in such an important area of education and world cultures.”

The new World Travel Channel will provide high-quality content focused on travel, tourism and culture to China’s and the region’s millions of new international travelers.

About CETV
China Education Television (CETV) was established in 1987 with the launch of CETV-1 and CETV-2, and CETV-3 followed, going to air in 1988 and 1994, respectively. Among the educational programs broadcast by CETV channels are degree-oriented university courses through CRTVU (Central Radio and Television University); continuing education; training and continuing education for teachers and principals, secondary specialties, and vocational education; and practical-skill training courses.  

CETV also has introduced On-air Classroom, a channel dedicated specifically to early education.
