The Morality of Travel.
Travel and Tourism offer many benefits in our personal lives and the positive social and economic impacts far outweigh any other activity or industry. Travel in its purest is the exchanging of culture; the act of crossing borders and celebrating diversity. All these positive benefits ultimately point to greater understanding between nations and you know what that means: we might even suggest using the old clichι that world peace could be attainable.

So whats this annoyingly persistent tapping on our shoulders and this message that seems to be shouting louder each month into our ears, reminding us travel is negatively affecting our world? Its a haunting idea for the consummate traveler because the bad news is that travel and tourism significantly contribute to global warming and climate change. The carbon dioxide coming from current modes of transportation like cars, boats and especially aircraft play a substantial role in raising the earths temperature. Global warming experts are pointing to our industry as being a heavy contributor to the release of these emissions into the atmosphere. Whats a guilt-ridden traveler to do?
We are watching the UK wrap their arms around this issue with numerous new companies spawning offerings that resemble a modern confession and absolution service for todays travelers. Check out our recent interview with UK company Climate Cares Stella Bell at
www.TravelTalkRADIO.com/archives_dec10_06.html#1009. One cant help but predict many new US companies will be created this year offering CO2 give back plans that will offset omissions. The question remains: Is this enough to stop this fast moving freight train called Global Warming? TravelTalkMEDIA has always backed the idea of MagLev transportation and this year we are going to see California continue to make significant strides to bring about a MagLev solution to the millions of Californians who make up the seventh largest economy in the world. For many years we've had the fortunate opportunity to have one of the pioneers in the field and a proponent of Magnetic Levitated trains in California as a regular contributor on TravelTalkRADIO. Albert Perdon is the Executive Director of the Orange Line Development Authority, http://www.TravelTalkRADIO.com/archives_aug13_06.html#1005 . Al will be joining us in our studios again in the upcoming months to share with us the vision of the Authority and give us an update on the many MagLev train proposals being considered. Well find out straight from the experts what the future holds for lowering travel-related emissions and in raising hope for the future welfare of our great planet. Until then, we keep traveling and asking for forgiveness with the help of companies like Climate Care.
Our first trip of the year.
Our first trip of the year outside the US is coming closer as we pack our Tuttos (magnificent luggage made for people who want everything and less baggage in their life) and head out for the newly renovated SuperClubs, Runaway Bay property in Jamaica. On January 21, 2007 we will be broadcasting TravelTalkRADIO live on our many radio stations throughout the Western Hemisphere from Runaway Bay. We will also be offering footage to our viewers on the Web and on TV in the upcoming weeks. We welcome you to follow along with us and find out why recreating yourself starts with a recreational stay at a SuperClubs of your choice! Unfortunately, on this trip we will have to live vicariously and feast our eyes on others having fun, but at least we can bring the proof back to you with stories and lots of footage of this fabulous destination and its 20 million dollar renovation.
Plus dont forget!
If you are a US citizen and you want to go to SuperClubs and you do not have a passport, theres no problem, Mon! SuperClubs will reimburse you for the cost of the passport. Now thats not only hospitable, but it's great to see a company that understands the importance of security yet continues to reach out with a welcoming hand. Thank you SuperClubs! TravelTalkMEDIA is also pleased to announce its joint participation with SuperClubs in donating a 7 night stay for two at one of SuperClubs fabulous 5 star Grand Lido Resorts to the American Bus Associations Marketplace Silent Auction. Through these fund-raising efforts, the ABA Foundation provides scholarship funds to deserving students in the US and Canada.
We are in the Southern California studios for our show this week and well be celebrating travel with a huge show filled with topics and trends in the travel industry. Well be joined by the President of the Africa Travel Association and representatives from the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the US Customs and Border Protection Service. Well also learn whats hot in travel for college students study abroad programs! Its all here live this Sunday on TravelTalkRADIO.com and on conventional radio stations across the globe.
January 21st, you find us broadcasting live from SuperClubs Runaway Bay and the following week we will be broadcasting from Grapevine, Texas at the American Bus Association Marketplace. And we just might have another surprise destination coming soon in February!
Safe travels!
