Welcome to this weeks TravelTalkMEDIA newsletter.
We are off to a running start with the final preparation for our 9-day trip to Europe with our departure a few hours after this Sundays broadcast of TravelTalkRADIO. First stop will be at the CHN University in the Netherlands to participate in the annual Tourism4Peace conference. Tourism4Peace is a group of travel industry experts from the Middle East who are dedicated to achieving a lasting peace in through the promotion of travel
and tourism in the Holy Lands. Representatives from Egypt, Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority are all members of this dynamic foursome and they |

continue to boldly press forward in spite of recent political events and perennial naysayers. We believe this is one of the most significant conferences on the subject of peace through tourism and we will be excited to be reporting to you in the upcoming weeks regarding this momentous event.
While in Israel earlier this year, I was honored to have lunch with Janos Damon, Executive Director of the Israel Hotel Managers Association. Janos is one of charter members of the Tourism4Peace organization and shared with us the groups vision of increasing opportunities for peaceful co-existence between these nations through their joint initiative to promote cross-border tourism and the commerce that naturally follows. We were captivated by the mission and resolve of Janos and his fellow Tourism4Peace members. The conference at the CHN University Netherlands, Oct 30 through Nov 2 will bring together many good friends of TravelTalkMEDIA, including Rafi Baeri from the Dan Hotels in Israel and Elhamy ElZayat from EMECO Travel in Egypt.
Also joining us in the Netherlands will be our dear friend, Michael Stolowitzky, President of the American Tourism Society (ATS), an organization dedicated to bringing the world closer together through tour and travel. The ATS opens it membership to industry professionals and travel experts who share this goal. TravelTalkMEDIA has been honored to attend and provide programming for each of the American Tourism Society conferences in the last 4 years. They truly walk their talk with the wonderful visibility they bring to tourism in many countries in the Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea regions (the Red-Med). The areas of recent focus for the ATS organization include several countries in the Middle East and Central Europe (the new Europe). We will have the unique opportunity to gather with all of these experts to discuss the ways and means of achieving significant and lasting results through this remarkable peace through tourism initiative.

 |
After the meeting in Holland, we will join some of these same colleagues and several thousand more at the second largest travel exhibition in the world, the World Travel Mart (WTM) in the UK. London is the host city for this annual event and we will be attending for several reasons. |
|
First, I am honored and excited to present a lecture at the first annual WTM-China Contact conference on bilateral tourism relations with China. TravelTalkMEDIA has been very fortunate to work closely with China National Radio and the Voice of Jinling Radio-Travel Radio in Nanjing for nearly two years. I will be speaking about the use of new technologies and convergent media in travel and tourism and how this will impact China. The WTM-China Contact conference is very timely as the global interest in China is continuing to rise in all sectors of travel and tourism. WTM and Roy Graff from China Contact are the organisers of this conference. Roy spent many years in China before coming to the UK to start China Contact.
While at WTM, well be touring the expansive exhibit floor of this massive travel expo to learn about the latest in travel products and services and visit with reps from destinations around the world. I will also be meeting with Mike Mendoza, the host of Through the Night on the largest commercial radio station in Great Britain, TalkSport.net. Mike and his wife, Jennifer, will join us as we discover Kenya at the London Eye. Hmmm, sounds like an interesting combination. The WTM is always full of surprises; I just hope Willy from New Guinea will be there. |
|
I will continue to hook you up with the experts in the industry bringing you the latest in travel and tourism news, trend and events. Please join us for these conversations and be sure to put us on your calendar for a highly informative and exciting November.
See you next week in the Netherlands and England.
Safe travel to you all,
Sandy
