exhibits. Sit at the controls of a real
jet. The giant AirTran DC9 is
incredible and
with security so tight these days, this
is probably only one of a very few
opportunities to get behind the wheel of
these awesome jets.

Docents
KEN PIERPOINT (top) and JOHN
WHISTLER (bottom) are
retired military who have given
more than 6,000 volunteer hours
to the Virginia Air and Space
Center. They are both
incredibly knowledgeable. Ken is
an expert on both early
communication devises as well as
the news digital systems. John
will take you through the museum
with boyish like enthusiasm. We
want to thank all the retired
military who continue to give
back to our generations by
giving countless hours to
educating the visitors to all
the military museums and centers
around the country.
