Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt heads the China Outbound Tourism Research Institute (COTRI), and his major publications on the topic are listed at http://www.china-outbound.com/research_publications.htm. He has been studying the patterns and issues of Chinese outbound tourism for more than 15 years, while advising governments and destinations in Germany, South America and the Caribbean on their China outbound tourism efforts. He has a recent initiative to establish a standard for Welcoming Chinese Guests a seal of approval for hotels, attractions, etc, which they can use in marketing in China

Making bicycle history -
The Silk Route Bicycle Expedition
Henry Gold will be joining Sandy
on TravelTalkRADIO every Sunday as he and his group of cyclist
travel between Istanbul, Turkey
and Beijing China. Henry will be calling in by satellite phone to report their progress and give us new information regarding this
incredible trip.

The Silk Route features approximately
88 cycling days, averaging 111 km
(69 miles) each day, broken up by 19 rest days and
a day of travel across the Caspian Sea -
a total of 108 days.
