December 2005:
After a record setting travel month in November (30K in 30 days!) , Sandy and the TravelTalkRADIO team spent most of December in Southern California “home for the holidays.” Visits to the historic town of Julian, CA, San Diego Bay with Hornblower Cruises and a visit to Palm Springs were some of this month’s destination highlights. Sandy and crew completed a travel piece for a new pilot TV program for San Diego’s ABC affiliate KGTV Channel 10. Sandy’s guests in December included Katerina Pavlitova, US Director of Czech Tourism.  Louise Julian, CEO of EF Education Brett Maresca, President and CEO of Web Athletes, TaraLyn Riordan,  US Department of Homeland Security, Don Reynolds, Executive Vice President of American Tourism Society, Rob Jolles, Author of The Way of the Road Warrior, Peter Pantuso, President of the American Bus Association, Arie Sommer, Israel Commissioner for Tourism, North and South America, Greg Niemann, Author of Palm Springs Legend, Gabor Zsamboky, President of AZ Ride, Rafi Baeri, VP of Sales for DAN Hotels in Tel Aviv, and the VOENA Children’s Choir of San Francisco.

November 2005: 30,000 miles in 30 days! That’s what Sandy and crew logged this month as they globe trotted from Angola, Africa to San Francisco to Prague in Czech Republic and onto a Southern California mountain community called Julian. Sandy kicked off this record setting month by serving on the media panel at the annual Africa Travel Association conference in Luanda, Angola and doing a LIVE broadcast of TravelTalkRADIO during a raging electrical storm from the La Presidente Hotel in Luanda with guests including His Excellency Eduardo Chingunji,  Angola's Minister for Hotels and Tourism, Dr. Gaynelle Henderson Bailey, Ph.D., Vice President of Africa Travel Association (ATA), Terry Leonard, Foreign Correspondent for Associated Press Southern Africa, Chief Margaret Bola Fabiya, Cultural Initiator for Nigeria, Lance Bailey, Architect and Urban Developer, Robert Elits, Official Photographer for Africa Travel Association, Jerry Bird, Editor/Publisher of Africa Travel Association magazine, and George D’Angelo, Member of the Finance Committee of the Africa Travel Association. Then it was back to the States to broadcast LIVE from the Adventures in Travel Expo 2005 in San Francisco at affiliate Bay Area station KQKE “The Quake”. Sandy’s guests in SF included several exhibitors at the Expo: Jacquie Burnside from Intrepid Travel, Tom Sutton from Snorkel Mart, and Jeff Adam from Goway Travel, Prem Sharma from Somak Safaris, Sally Kopf from Costanoa Lodge near Santa Cruz, CA and Jim Forberg, COO of Adventures in Travel Expo. Sandy and crew then flew to Prague in the Czech Republic for the annual conference of the American Tourism Society (ATS) where Sandy broadcast LIVE with guests including Alex Harris, Chairman of the American Tourism Society, Michael Stolowitzky, President of the American Tourism Society, Robert Whitley, President of the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA), Akel Biltaji, Advisor to His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, and Christian Grage, General Manager of the Corinthia Hotel International in Prague, (Sandy's recommended hotel of Europe and beyond). Then it was back to the US again for a quick trip to Julian, California to produce a travel news segment for a new TV pilot featuring Sandy. October 2005: Sandy’s first broadcast this month was LIVE from Gillette Stadium and the New England Patriots Game in Boston with Tom Brady, Sr.,  father of three-time Superbowl winning quarterback, Tom Brady. Also joining Sandy on the show in Boston were the quarterback’s mother, Galynn Brady, and sisters, Maureen, Julie, and Nancy. Then, it was back to San Diego for another LIVE remote broadcast, this one from the La Pensione Hotel in the Little Italy district for the annual Italian festival. Special guests included, Reint Reinders, President and CEO of the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, Adam Englund, Founder of FloatingAirport.org, and Joanne DiBona of the Roman Holiday Ensemble. Other special guests in October included Michael Crye, President of the International Council of Cruise Lines, Tara Riordan, Business Liaison Assistant Director for the US Department of Homeland Security, Dr. Phyllis Kozarsky, from the US Center for Disease Control, Sujit Chowdhury, President and CEO, World Trade University Global Secretariat, Canada, Michael Stolowitzky, CEO and President of the American Tourism Society, Stephen Barth, JD, CHE, Professor at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston, Walter Turner, President of Board of Directors of the Global Exchange, and Patrick Peartree, Corporate Counsel and Vice President of Business Development for TravelTalkMEDIA. To wind up the month of October, Sandy traveled to Luanda, Angola to serve on a media panel for the African Travel Association. During the LIVE broadcast from La Presidente Meridien Hotel in Angola, Sandy’s special guests included His Excellency EDUARDO CHINGUNJI, Angola's  Minister for Hotels and Tourism, Mira Berman, Executive Director, Africa Travel Association, Eddie Bergman and Robert Alsbrook, founders of Miracle Corners, and Fumeke Sarr,  General Manager of the Corinthia Hotels International in Togo, Africa.

August 2005:
The month started out in San Diego, home of TravelTalkRADIO’s studios, playing host to the 91st annual gathering of the International Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (IACVB). Sandy and crew were on hand to cover this historic conference as the IACVB formally changed its name to the Destination Marketing Association International and launched its worldwide rebranding initiative. San Diego was also the venue for the annual National Business Travel Association (NBTA) Convention and TravelTalkRADIO was broadcast live from the San Diego Convention Center. Sandy’s special guests were Carol Devine, President of the NBTA, and Bill Connors, NBTA’s Executive Director and COO. Next, Sandy was off on a publicity tour to San Francisco where TravelTalkRADIO is now broadcast across the Bay Area on new affiliate station KQKE “The Quake” 960AM with 50K watts of power. Additional special guests were Ivan Beckers, CEO of AgentWare Inc., Ken Murphy, VP of Universal Air Travel Plan, Scott Solombrino, CEO of Dav El, Inc, Chauffeured Transportation Service, Dr. Peter Tarlow, author and renowned expert in safety and security in tourism, Sandra Hughes, VP of Travel Related Service for the American Automobile Association, and Linda Coughlin, President and Founder of Metro-Home.com.

July 2005: Sandy and crew were off to Fabulous Las Vegas in July to cover the launch of the new Casino Surrender Blackjack rules being introduced at the Stardust Casino. Also while in Las Vegas, Sandy met with Bob and Jerry Greenburg at the new Rainbow Bar & Grill Restaurant across from the Hard Rock Cafe near the Strip.  Sandy had a great interview with the Greenburg Brothers who are owners of the new Rainbow Bar and who are both wildly successful record promoters and rock and roll industry legends. Then it was off to Seattle to tour the Boeing Commercial Aircraft production plant in Everett, Washington and cover the delivery of a new Boeing 777 to EVA AIR, the first of fifteen 777’s ordered by the airline. Sandy met personally with EVA AIR’s Chairman, Steve Lin at the delivery ceremony. Sandy’s guests in July also included Reint Reinders, President & CEO of the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureaus, Dan McNichol, author of The Roads That Built America and The Big Dig in Boston, and Steve Connolly, the best Elvis impersonator in Vegas. Also appearing with Sandy in July were Michael Gehrisch, President & CEO of the International Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (IACVB), Linda Coughlin, founder of New York City-based Metro-Home.com. Sandy also welcomed Taralyn Riordan, Business Liaison - Assistant Director Private Sector Office, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Susan Farewell, Author The Insiders Guide Quick Escapes - New York City, Karmenu Vella Chairman of Corinthia Hotels International, David and Kay Scott, authors of the Guide to the National Parks, Francine Busby, US Congressional candidate, and Sam Martinette of the Hampton, Virginia Convention & Visitor Bureau.

June 2005: Sandy was selected as a spokesperson and travel media personality for the KNBC Los Angeles 2005 Travel & Leisure Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center and did a live broadcast of her TravelTalkRADIO show from the event. Sandy’s guests at the KNBC show included many of the team members from BXI Expo, organizer of the event, as well as representatives of many of the travel and tour companies at the expo from Switzerland, Israel, Africa, India and more. Sandy’s special guest was Peter Greenberg, NBC's TODAY Show Travel Editor and author of the Travel Detective. Peter is also the chief correspondent for Discovery Network’s Travel Channel. Later in the month, Sandy and her crews also visited Washington, DC and New York City to meet with the many travel industry organizations that TravelTalkMEDIA works closely with including Sandi Talley of the International Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (IACVB), Jim Santini, Chief Legal Counsel for the National Tour Association (NTA), Peter Pantuso, President of the American Bus Association (the ABA recently merged with United Motorcoach Association), Michael Stolowitzky, President and CEO of the American Tourism Society (ATS), and Alfonso Martinez-Fonts, Special Assistant to the Director of Homeland Security. All these folks are frequent guests on TravelTalkRADIO, a testament to Sandy's impeccable reputation in the travel industry.  Also joining Sandy on the show in June were Mike Mendoza from TalkSPORT Radio, the largest commercial radio station in UK, Tara Lynn Riordan, Business Liaison Assistant Director Private Sector Office U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Bonnie Lee, President, TravelQuest AND travel agent extraordinaire, Thomas Steinmetz, Publisher of eTurboNews, Boubker Mazoz, Public Affairs Specialist United States Consulate and President Casablanca Chicago Sister Cities Committee in Casa Blanca Morocco, Sam Nhairy, President of Hospitality Marketing, and many others.

May 2005: Sandy kicked off the month with interviews with His Excellency, Minister of Tourism for Egypt, Ahmed El Maghraby, and ElHamy El Zayat, Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Federation. Then it was off to lovely Carmel, California on beautiful Monterey Bay where Sandy featured the delightful and pet friendly Carmel Valley Lodge. Author Cynthia Dial also joined Sandy to discuss her book, Teach Yourself Travel Writing. Next, Sandy journeyed with her family to the SuperClubs Grand Lido Negril Resort in Jamaica for a vacation and to participate in FIT WEEK. Joining Sandy in Jamaica were Chris Brewer from Lance Armstrong’s LIVESTRONG Cancer Foundation, Suzanne McManus, VP of PR for all 16 SuperClubs Resorts, and superstar chef, Martin Maginley, Master Chef at the SuperClub’s Grand Lido Negril. The following week, Sandy boarded the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California and covered the Tour and Cruise World Expo. Sandy’s special guest was Jim Ferguson, PATA Director of North America. Also joining Sandy as special guests in May were Jim Santini, former congressman from Nevada and current legal counsel for the National Tour Association (NTA), Paula Madison, President and General Manager of NBC Los Angeles, Chuck Henry, spokesperson for this years NBC Travel & Leisure Expo, Sam Nhairy, President of Hospitality Marketing Services , Thomas Steinmetz, publisher of eTurboNews,  Bonnie Lee,  President, Travel Quest, and Daniel Chavez, President of Sports-Empire.com.

April 2005: Sandy and the TravelTalkNEWS team traveled to Macau to participate in the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) annual convention. While in Macau, Sandy met personally with PATA President and CEO, Peter de Jong and several members of his staff. Planning is underway for TravelTalkRADIO to launch a new PATA branded radio program in the next few months. Then it was off to Bangkok, Thailand where Sandy moderated a panel of airline experts at the 2005 Airline Distribution conference sponsored by the Universal Air Travel Plan (UATP) http://UATP.com/distribution2005/. Owned by 15 of the world's largest air carriers, UATP is the world’s oldest credit card issuer even pre-dating Diners Club, American Express, VISA and all the rest. UATP handles nearly $10B a year in credit transactions for its member airlines. Sandy interviewed several airline executives at the UATP conference including Horst Findeisen of Star AllianceJeff Foster, President of Retail Decisions and Kevin O'Toole, Editor of Airline Business Magazine. Sandy also interviewed Tony Davis, CEO of Tiger Airways and Ellen Keszler, President of Corporate Solutions for SABRE Holdings and Travelocity. Many experts predict that China will be the wealthiest economy in the world within the next ten years and the country is becoming a huge market for both inbound and outbound travel. While in Beijing, Sandy also met with Sujit Chowdhuy, President and CEO of the World Trade University www.wtuglobal.org who extended an invitation to become global partners with WTU and the World Tourism University, currently under construction in Nanjing.

March 2005: This was a busy month of programming and travel with Sandy and crew attending the annual meeting of the American Tourism Society held in Amman, Jordan. Sandy personally met King Abdullah, II and toured the lost city of Petra, the Roman ruins of Jerash, and Holy Land sites including Bethany beyond the Jordan River, Mount Nebo, and the Dead Sea. Sandy’s guests in Jordan included Robert Whitley, President and CEO of the USTOA, Alex Harris, Chairman of the American Tourism Society, Michael Stolowitzky, President and CEO of the American Tourism Society, and Akel Biltaji, Advisor to His Majesty The King of Jordan for Tourism, Foreign Investment and Country Branding. Then it was on to the world’s largest travel show, the ITB in Berlin, Germany. While in Berlin, Sandy had personal interviews with His Excellency, Ahmed Khadem, Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Authority, and Elhamy ElZayat, Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Federation. Next, it was on to Casablanca, Morocco with Sam Nhairy, President of Hospitality Marketing Services, and the Casa Blanca Chicago Sister Cities Committee. February 2005: Sandy personally appeared at the American Bus Association Marketplace in Chicago where she conducted over 20 interviews with key executives in the luxury motorcoach and group travel and tour industry about the latest trends. Also, Sandy was elated to have been able to interview Janet Lennon of the legendary Lennon Sisters, and Rudy Gatlin of the Gatlin Brothers and many other celebrities currently performing in Branson, Missouri. The TravelTalkTV production team captured B-roll of the ABA event with broadcast quality TV cameras for Sandy’s frequent TV travel segments. Professional grade, digital still cams were taken to create custom program pages for the Web. Sandy also broadcast the TravelTalkRADIO show live from the floor of the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago and guests included Peter Pantuso, President and CEO of the ABA, Jan Kostner, Deputy Director of the Illinois Bureau of Tourism, and Ross Summers, President of the Branson Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB. http://www.TravelTalkRADIO.com/aba_05.html. Right after that, Sandy and crew fly to the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas covering the heli-lift of the newest thrill ride The Insanity to the top of the 1,000’ tower. A huge Sikorsky Skycrane helicopter lifted nearly 32 tons of thrill ride components that will be assembled high over Las Vegas for a mid-March opening. Sandy’s guest list also included Reint Reinders, President and CEO of the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, Al Alonik, noted author and well known travel attorney, Bruce Beckham, Executive Director of Tourism Cares for Tomorrow, Mike Mendoza, UK radio personality and host of talkSPORT, Sean Keener, President of Boots’nAll, and Dave Wiggins, founder of the Southern California Tourism Safety/Security Association.
