WINTERFEST 04 HEATS UP WITH NEW EVENT
(Lake Havasu City, Ariz.)
Attendees at the 2004 Winterfest Festival are in
for a tasty experience. The Lake Havasu Area
Chamber of Commerce announced today the addition
of the 1st Annual Civitan Salsa
Challenge to the marquee of events planned for
Winterfest 04. Experienced
salsa connoisseurs will be treated to
concoctions that will satisfy every taste
preference, from spicy hot to deliciously mild.
"Winterfest is such
wonderful blend of artisans, crafters, food
vendors and entertainers
that come here from all over
the United States," said Keri Jones,
Chamber administrative assistant and Winterfest
coordinator. "The Salsa Challenge will
offer another component, a competitive event
that all can enjoy."
Celebrating its 19th
year, Winterfest has evolved into a premier
winter event in northwestern Arizona. Initially
produced as a celebration for our winter
visitors, the event has grown to be
all-inclusive, showcasing events and
entertainment for the entire family. The two-day
event, scheduled for February 7 & 8, will
once again transform the "uptown"
district of McCulloch Blvd. into a full-on
festival that will feature vendors selling their
wares from brightly colored booths, childrens
activities, entertainment throughout the day,
and of course the Salsa Challenge.
All are invited to enter the
Salsa Challenge, the entry fee for an individual
is $15.00; chips and containers for the salsa
will be provided. The entry fee for business is
$20.00; each business entry must provide their
chips and containers. There will be two judging
categories for both individual and business
entries.
