Despite the challenges the travel and tourism industry faces today, the Travelers Conservation Foundation continues to grow. One might wonder how, amidst a struggling economy, a philanthropic organization related to the travel industry could not only survive but also prosper. Some of the most interesting and often visited sites in New Orleans are the cemeteries. Unfortunately, many of the tombs have fallen into disrepair and aren’t being maintained as descendants cannot be identified or have moved out of the region. The tourism industry’s help is needed to help restore these American treasures.
