WILLIAM S. NORMAN,
President and CEO of
TRAVEL INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA

|
William S. Norman announced his
retirement to the Board of Directors,
and the TIA staff this week. In a
letter, Norman noted that during his 10
years at the helm, all major objectives
have been met or exceeded, the standing
and influence of the association has
never been stronger, the U.S. travel
industry is unified, the post-September
11th recovery is underway, and the TIA
staff is operating very effectively.
"Thus, TIA and the travel industry are
on solid footing in all key areas as I
complete a decade of service and
contributions," Norman wrote. His
retirement is effective January 5, 2005.for
this upcoming Jan 2005.

He is passionate about life
and grateful for a stellar
career both in the Travel
industry as well as the US
Military. Please join me as

TIA National
Chair Bruce
Wolff, executive
vice president,
Sales &
Marketing
Programs,
Marriott
International,
announced that
the search for a
replacement
would begin
immediately.
"Given the very
high bar that
Bill Norman has
set, and the
need to continue
the industry's
hard-won
momentum
achieved over
the past several
years, it will
be a challenge
to
find another
leader who can
serve and
represent us
with
a similar degree
of excellence,"
Wolff said.

Travel
Talk Radio believes
Travel is a catalyst for creating communication, peace,
and commerce among the countries and communities of the world.
It's difficult to fight with a
culture where you have shared a
glass of refreshment,
visited their neighborhoods and experienced their customs.
And besides its really fun to get out there and jump on a
train, bus or plane, walk
into a new environment, taste new interesting food and
talk with the locals.
Building memories that are packed with
experiences of
extraordinary places, great people and exciting
events
are at the cornerstone in living a fruitful and
harmonious life.
